25 Years of Bendigo Community Bank: A Street Celebration
Community Spirit Alive: Bendigo Community Bank’s 25th Anniversary Celebration!
Last week on Friday 22nd we were asked to do a sausage sizzle for the Bendigo Community Bank celebrating 25 years of existence in Toora. There were official speeches, free soft drinks, show bags for children and free sausages were provided for those attending.
Some of the original foundation members were present adding that little bit of nolstagia to the street gathering outside the bank’s building.
The local community radio based in Wonthaggi was broadcasting live from their newly upgraded mobile unit parked next to the bank and there was an atmosphere of fete in the street, reinforcing the close relation between the Bendigo Community Bank, the local businesses and the wonderful achievements in the Corner Inlet area, through the Bank’s Grants Program.
Foster which has a branch in town was celebrating as well with Foster and Rotary providing the free sausage sizzle. A great day for both towns and certainly a well deserved celebration and official recognition for the Bendigo Community Bank.
