Peace Poster
Congratulations to all Clubs who participated in this year’s Peace Poster contest, five in all.
The standard of the nine posters submitted by five Lions Club were outstanding. The students put in a lot of effort in their posters.
This year we had an artist as the adjudicator and, on the day, Sue explained in detail the posters participating however, she concentrated on the theme as well as the artistic merit of the posters, ” Peace Without Limits”. Attached is an epistle along with a photo of the adjudicator, Sue and President of the Koo Wee Rup Lions Club with the winning poster, theme Together Peace is possible from Amelia Matthews representing the Koo Wee Rup Lions Club.
This year, DG Ian elected a District award of $200.00 for the winning poster and two $100.00 vouchers for the two runner ups for which we are all very grateful. . It is hoped a prize will be available in the coming years. Further, due to the small amount of Clubs and entries submitted, all contestants were in the running for a major prize.
It is hoped judging for next year’s Peace Poster theme will take place Saturday afternoon at the Convention and announced on Sunday after the Memorial Service. This year’s winning poster will be displayed at the convention in Warragul next year. The multiple district winner should be announced in early December.
